Women's Cooperative COOPAFSI COFFEE

COOPAFSI (Cooperative Agraria "Frontera San Ignacio" Ltda) was officially formed in June 1969. From the beginning, gender equality played a crucial role in the purchase and distribution of land among producers. What sets this cooperative apart is their dedication to empowering and promoting coffee grown by women. These women significantly contribute to the coffee's physical and sensory qualities. They are constantly managing new projects and finding innovative ways to enhance their families' lives. Their efforts are centered around improving quality and consistently delivering coffee to various markets. In 2016, the cooperative established a women's committee responsible for distributing loans to help producers improve their land and participate in developments for their kitchens, crafts, and livestock. They also created a computer lab to ensure all members stay current with modern technology.
